Karim is a patent agent, licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office under Registration No. 63908. Karim has vast. experience in patent prosecution matters since 2000. As a patent agent, he represented clients from the USA, China, Europe, Chile and Mexico to pursue patent protection in the U.S.A. and build up their patent portfolios. The range of technical fields of specialty covers biotechnology, information technology, wireless communication, oil and natural gas exploration, software, etc.
Karim has worked as a Senior Staff Scientist with The Hecker Law Group, an intellectual property law firm in Los Angeles, where he prosecuted patents for high-tech companies. Karim also handled invention matters for Idealab, a Pasadena, CA based business start-up incubator. With a spin-off Idealab, IExchange.com, an online marketplace for stock market information exchange, Mr. Lagobi led a team of technical staff and was co-inventor of the underlying technology of the business.
Karim earned a Doctorate of Neurosciences in 1991 from Universite Claude Bernard-Lyon1, Lyon, France. After graduating, Mr. Lagobi worked with AT&T Bell Laboratories (Murray Hill, NJ), and the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH), where he focuses on combining computer simulation with experimental research.
